A Message from the Vice President for Research

Welcome to the Division of University Research at Rowan University!

The mission of the Division of University Research is to support and promote research, scholarship, and creative activity by leveraging external and internal resources, cultivating collaborative opportunities, conforming to compliant and ethical behavior, and supporting technology commercialization.

We are responsible for promoting, supporting and administering the research, scholarly and creative activity of all the faculty, staff and students at Rowan University. We are here to support you by:

• Identifying opportunities for sponsored research;
• Assisting with the preparation of external grant applications and identifying potential collaborators;
• Providing workshops to educate you about the external grant application process;
• Advocating for our faculty with external research sponsors and collaborators;
• Administering all aspects of the sponsored research process including ensuring compliance with applicable Federal, State and University rules and laws;
• Fostering the creation, management and technology transfer of intellectual property; and
• Reporting research performance metrics to stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Rowan University prides itself on research that is groundbreaking and multidisciplinary. Our talented and diverse faculty who represent various colleges and schools work collaboratively on innovative research. Their vertically integrated research usually allows for undergraduate student involvement. Our faculty collaborations extend globally beyond the Rowan University campuses. Our faculty are well renowned for their research expertise as evidenced by their competitive grant awards, peer reviewed publications, creative works and national and international awards and recognitions. Our students have excelled in research and have been the recipients of prestigious national awards.   

This is a time of unprecedented growth and change at Rowan with the addition of two medical schools, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University at Camden and the School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford and the rapid growth in the number of enrolled students on our Glassboro campus. The Division of University Research is located at the South Jersey Technology Park.
