Research
Dr. Kim's research interests encompass two main areas. Firstly, she explores the associations among bone-loading physical activity, body composition, arterial stiffness, and lifestyle habits among young adults. Secondly, she investigates the benefits of alternative exercise regimens, such as yoga, on bone and cardiovascular health.
Dr. Kim's particular focus is on understanding the effects of these interventions among specific populations, including premenopausal and menopausal women, Hispanic children and youth, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). These groups, often overlooked in research, are at a heightened risk for the initial stages of bone loss and the development of cardiovascular disease.
