Dr. Jessica Loweth

Dr. Jessica Loweth grew up in Evanston, IL, a suburb of Chicago. Dr. Loweth received her bachelors’ degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As an undergraduate, she conducted research with Dr. Janice Juraska focused on the effects of ovarian hormones on learning and memory. Dr. Loweth went on to receive her PhD in Neurobiology at The University of Chicago with Dr. Paul Vezina. Her graduate research project focused on the role that CaMKII plays in the expression of behavioral sensitization by amphetamine.

For her postdoctoral training, Dr. Loweth worked in the lab of Dr. Marina Wolf at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL. Her project focused on the role metabotropic glutamate receptors play in the expression of incubated cocaine craving. In July 2017, Dr. Loweth moved to New Jersey and joined the Department of Cell Biology & Neuroscience at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
