Dr. Jessica Loweth

Dr. Jessica Loweth grew up in Evanston, IL, a suburb of Chicago. Dr. Loweth received her bachelors’ degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As an undergraduate, she conducted research with Dr. Janice Juraska focused on the effects of ovarian hormones on learning and memory. Dr. Loweth went on to receive her PhD in Neurobiology at The University of Chicago with Dr. Paul Vezina. Her graduate research project focused on the role that CaMKII plays in the expression of behavioral sensitization by amphetamine.

For her postdoctoral training, Dr. Loweth worked in the lab of Dr. Marina Wolf at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL. Her project focused on the role metabotropic glutamate receptors play in the expression of incubated cocaine craving. In July 2017, Dr. Loweth moved to New Jersey and joined the Department of Cell Biology & Neuroscience at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Anu Krishnan, Research Teaching Specialist

Anu oversees all biochemical studies and basic laboratory management in the lab.

Bhumi's project focuses on investigating the effects of sex and estrous cycle fluctuations on oxycodone craving and relapse vulnerability.

Erin Wannen

Erin Wannen, PhD Student, Molecular Cell Biology & Neuroscience (MCBN) Program

Erin's project focuses on investigating cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying behavioral sex differences in cocaine seeking behavior and relapse vulnerability.

Laura Figueroa, Medical Student

Laura works with Bhumi on her project investigating the effects of sex and estrous cycle fluctuations on oxycodone craving and relapse vulnerability.

Dr. Claire Corbett

Claire received her PhD from the Loweth Lab in May 2022. Her work focused on investigating neuroadaptations in the basolateral amygdala influencing sex differences in cocaine seeking behavior (see links to these papers in the Research tab). Claire is now a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Liz West's lab at Rowan SOM.
