Waterhouse Lab
Welcome to the Waterhouse Lab
The primary research focus of my laboratory is to understand the role of the central monoaminergic systems in brain function and behavior. More specifically we are concerned with the anatomy and physiology of the brainstem noradrenergic and serotonergic efferent systems as they relate to executive function and the sensory processing capabilities of the organism.
Rowan GSBS Welcomes Dr. Waterhouse
Chair of the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience at GSBS
As the new Chair of the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience at GSBS, Dr. Barry Waterhouse brings his expertise and a vision to expand neuroscience research and research training on campus and in the South Jersey region. Joining him is an enthusiastic and soon-to-be expanding team of neuroscientists who will help drive this vision forward.
“Our exciting phase of growth includes hiring additional research faculty in neuroscience and in behavioral neurobiology. Graduate students remain key to the success of this enterprise as we foster the development of neuroscience research and training within the department while expanding the scope of neuroscience to other departments across the university. With our department as its focal point, Rowan is aiming to become a regional leader in neuroscience research, education, and clinical care.”
