R.O.P.E.S.
Welcome to R.O.P.E.S.
Rowan University's Opportunity for Postsecondary Excellence and Success (R.O.P.E.S) program is funded by the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education and the U.S. Department of Education. This grant falls under the “Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund II: Opportunity Meets Innovation Challenge (OMIS)” and is awarded in connection with the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, 2021, (“CRRSA Act”).
Our goal is to facilitate pathways to college through a new dual enrollment program for high school juniors in rural and urban school districts across South Jersey to support a seamless transition and successful matriculation to postsecondary education. Our program also offer opportunities to increase students' success and enhanced workforce readiness by exposing students to five broad career pathways. We provide strategies throughout the program to help students in Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities achieve their full potential.
Please contact the R.O.P.E.S Program Co-ordinator Dr. Elisa M. Di Lolle if you have any questions and concerns at dilolle@rowan.edu
ROPES Student Reflections from On-Campus Visit
"I loved seeing the water lab and the light-up water project the students were working on"
"I would say my favorite part of the trip was the information that I received from Dr. Sharon McCann, who encouraged me to pursue my ambition of studying sociology and history"
"Taking a tour of the music department and seeing the mixing area and the live room was so cool"
"I loved the demonstrations of some the experiments Dr. Jahan showed us during the engineering aspect of the university. She told us that the field was very hands-on and I really enjoyed watching it"
"I learned I can do college; I was worried at first but now I can go away to college and I would probably adapt easily"
"I learned that Rowan is somewhere I can see myself going to"
"I learned that I am on a great path to something greater than myself. I just need to keep heading in the right direction in order to achieve my ambitions. I also learned that I should put myself out more in order to meet new people and not distance myself so much, which is what I am used to. Although being social will prove to be very difficult for me, I believe I can overcome this weakness in order to strive in the end"
