Graduate Opportunities in Safe Transportation And Resilient Systems
The objectives of our GOSTARS program are to:
- Recruit 13 outstanding graduate fellows.
- Produce fellows capable of facilitating a wide range of infrastructure projects through the provision of transformative innovative research experiences.
- Increase the number of women, underrepresented minorities (URM), and historically underserved groups (LGBTQ, differently-abled, and low SES-Socio Economic Status).
- Develop fellows' capabilities as instructors through a teaching community of practice and supervised teaching experiences.
- Develop fellows' professional identities to prepare them for diverse career opportunities in academia, industry, and government.
- Disseminate research and lessons learned from the GOSTARS program via professional organizations and online and in-person workshops.
- Create fellows that recognize gender and racial systemic biases, ethical dilemmas, and issues of inclusivity and advocate for change where appropriate.
- Prepare fellows to be outstanding mentors through guided mentorship and provision of mentoring opportunities.
