Graduate Programs
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rowan University offers three graduate programs to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills necessary for a professional career or an academic position. Rowan CEE offers a Ph.D. in Engineering with a specialization in Civil Engineering. We ensure that graduate students master quantitative and interpretive skills in a specialized, chosen field for successful professional practice. The Ph.D. is conferred to outstanding students who can demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research and make substantial contributions to the advancement of their chosen field. Ph.D. students are required to make original contributions in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Our program allows many students to develop an interdisciplinary focus that is developed through their coursework and thesis topic. Graduate students have an opportunity to work in state of the art laboratory facilities and research centers. We offer the following specializations:
- Structural Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Transportation Engineering
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Water Resources Engineering
- Mechanics and Materials
- Sustainability
- Resiliency Planning for Communities
Students should consider pursuing graduate studies for the following reasons:
Specialization in a specific field of interest |
Career Advancement |
