Welcome to WaterWorks
WaterWorks - Developing the New Generation of Workforce for Water and Wastewater Utilities. The goal of WaterWorks is to foster awareness about employment opportunities in the drinking water and wastewater utility workforce via educational programming at the K-12 and high education levels. The aging water infrastructure in the U.S leaves numerous drinking water systems and wastewater treatment plants (WWTPS) at the end of their design lives, leaving millions of Americans at risk of losing their livelihood.
WaterWorks will improve the preparation of students, particularly women and underrepresented minorities (URMs), in science technology engineering, and mathematics (STEMS) through curriculum development and other activities related to the needs of water/wastewater utilities.
WaterWorks is to build capacity in Southern New Jersey to plan, implement, sustain, water/wastewater utility educational activities in order to facilitate interest in this field and to ultimately supply skilled employees needed for the future workforce.
