Graduate and Undergraduate Certificates in Cannabis Studies
Rowan University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) is offering two Certificate Programs for learners wishing to gain a better understanding of the socio-behavioral, legal impact and enforcement of medical and recreational cannabis. The certificates are in both undergraduate and graduate programs and they serve learners seeking careers in the Cannabis industry, cultivation, customer services, education/guidance, compliance, legal and social regulations. The certificates can be taken as stand-alone credentials or as part of an on-going degree program.Certificate of Graduate Studies: Cannabis Specialist – Assessment and Social Control of Legalized Cannabis
This program provides students with the policy knowledge, program evaluation and implementation background, as well as the skills to develop and evaluate cannabis legislation and the issues that society and social institutions encounter with legalization.

This course offers an applied approach to systematically collect and analyze data on the outcomes of programs and policies in the field of the cannabis industry.
Certificate of Undergraduate Studies: Social Behavioral Impact of Cannabis Legislation
This program provides students with an in-depth understanding of cannabis legislation, history, policy and process. Social institutions will be examined, as well as addressing the differential impacts of cannabis legislation on the issue of social inequality.

This course presents an overview of the creation of legislation, the legislative process, and statutory interpretation with a focus on the emerging area of cannabis law, legal ethics, and inclusive responsibility.

Students will be offered a diverse overview of the burgeoning field of the production, sale, and consumption of cannabis to gain an understanding of the social, anthropological, historic, economic and cultural forces that shape the cannabis industry.
Social-Behavioral, Security and Law Enforcement Cannabis Center (SSLC)
Passage of voter-driven marijuana laws for recreational use signals a societal shift in attitudes for cannabis use in New Jersey. This policy transformation reminds us that there is still much we don’t know about the potential impact of legalization on behavioral patterns, on social and product control as well as on public policy.
